New Entrants
~I'm won't talk about any Avicii songs because they all are pretty self-explanatory.

~So at 29 we have apologize. Now, this is here because of life right now, it's sort of my anthem for the time being. Honestly, it's not that bad, the production voice and everything is just nice.

~Finally, nostalgia kicked in and...we got I Got No Time debuted on here. This is hands one of the best EDM songs ever as it's my #1 of 2015. The voice sounds weird but that's the point it's from one of my favorite games, Five Nights At Freddy's. The production is really good so yeah it'll probably stick around.

Hits 1 Weekend Countdown, Week of April 20, 2019 Jonas Brothers (4)

Hello guys and welcome back to another post. This week, was very quiet and not much happened. My rankdown is due in like a week now, so please get it in. I can extend by like 2 weeks, but no more. Also, I'm trying to get two special posts up this week since I have Spring Break. Before we start, today one year ago, we lost the best producer of our time, Avicii. He was my favorite probably since Levels, and it was heartbreaking when I heard he committed suicide. Therefore, a bit of silence for him and how he inspired others and me to do things, for example, get me into music production.

Anyways, now let's get too out dropout:
Dropouts:

  • grandson- apologize (#39) [#20]

Biggest DROP- Ariana Grande- 7 Rings (-14)

#1 Song This Week One Year Ago- Zedd/Maren Morris/Grey- The Middle (7th/9 weeks)

New Entrants
~Interestingly Old Town Road debuts really quick this week. *Relevancy alert, Relevancy alert* Anyways, this song isn't that bad, it grew on me a lot. The vocals from  Lil Nas are really good even though he uses some autotune here. Billy Ray really brings the song together. His voice is nice and the lyrical content he brings along with the original content makes it better. The blend of the country/hip-hop production is really good too. Overall, nice song, but I hope it doesn't flop like our most recent full rap song, SICKO MODE.

Blurb With Me
~To start off, I'm pretty impressed that Hits 1 is pushing out the older songs. I mean Love Lies, Natural, Youngblood, and 2002 haven't been anywhere near the Top 30 for some time.

~Surprised 7 Rings took a drop. I mean I'm not surprised because I knew break up's debut would mess up its momentum.

~Speechlesss and Dancing With A Stranger broke Top 10 this week. I don't think the former will last up here that long, however, I can the latter staying up here for some time.

~Better and Wow.'s jumps from last week didn't last long.

~Also, CAN WE PLEASE GET RID OF THIS FEELING NOW IT'S SUPER ANNOYING AND NOT EVEN THAT GOOD ANYMORE.

~I see Last Hurrah is trying to make a run for Top 10, which would be nice instead of some songs up there.

~As far as exits go, apologize wasn't meant to last and that sucks because I just starting to grow on me.

  • Bazzi- Paradise (DEBUT)
  • Billie Eilish- bad guy (DEBUT)

New Trainees
~First up is Power Is Power. Wow, this is better than I expected. Everyone here has really nice vocals
here and the production is pretty good, but might lead to the downfall because it sounds like Pray For Me and I didn't like that.

~Next is Paradise. I mean it's good, but forgettable and is a snoozefest so yeah.

~Finally is bad guy. Can't believe she released it that quickly. It's ok, but I still think bury a friend is better.

~So Close and bury a friend are gone this week but will likely debut next week. Good for both.

Biggest Jump- Sigrid/MK- Don't Feel Like Crying (MK Remix) (+20)

New Entrants
~First up is My Bad. This song is honestly just plainly good. Khalid's flow is nice and the production is very relaxing and it just feels calm. I mean I know Khalid is a very chill person and, therefore, his songs would be too. His voice is nice and yeah everything's good.

~Next is Look What God Gave Her. Now I know I hate country, but not gonna lie this sounds like pop. Anyways, his voice is good, and the chorus is the best. However, the production seems just very generic, but I can handle it. I've only heard a few times, but they were good, however, with the raid I don't think this or the song mentioned before this will last the raid.

~Hell, count the re-entry and maybe even this song. Therefore, clocking in at 30 is Old Town Road. This song grew a lot from just the memes and just because yeah why not it's a meme song so it'll do good. I mean we got pewdiepie songs on here so it makes sense. Anyways, I like the vocals from both and the content is good. I like how he adds the country music to the hip-hop style beat and it works, which is surprising. Also, I didn't know Lil Nas X was the chorus singer and the cowboy one or whatever you call it.

~Finishing it off at 9 is SOS. As much as I love Avicii, I don't think they should've done a posthumous album. I mean, yay, but like I don't want it to sound messy and stuff. That aside, the song is great. Sure, it might sound Kygo, but I mean all producers' productions can sound like others. Aloe's voice is really good and might even beat Wake Me Up's vocals. However, the production in Wake Me Up is WAY better than this. It's more of a mellow and softer drop but doesn't sound as generic as other drops.

Possibilities
  • Alec Benjamin- Let Me Down Slowly
  • Ally Brooke/Tyga- Low Key
  • Alan Walker/Sofia Carson/K-391/CORSAK- Different World
  • Nicki Minaj/Anuel Aa/Bantu- Familia
  • Jennifer Lopez/French Montana- Medicine
  • Stephen Puth- Sexual Vibe
  • Galantis/OneRepublic- Bones
  • NOTD/Felix Jaehn/Captain Cuts/Georgia Ku- So Close
  • George Ezra- Shotgun
  • YK Osiris- Worth It (DEBUT)
  • Ellie Goulding- Sixteen (DEBUT)
  • Austin Brown- In Betweenin' (Re-entry)
  • Cheat Codes/Kim Petras- Feeling Of Falling (Re-entry)
~Don't Call Me Up, Happy Now, and 3:15 have all been kicked off Possibilities.

#1 Song This Week One Year Ago- Zedd/Maren Morris/Grey- The Middle (6th/9 weeks)

New Entrants
~First up is Undrunk. If I'm being honest here, I don't like the song. It's a huge snoozefest for me. Sure, she might sound good, but that production is not really doing it for me. Hopefully, it hits 22 and leaves because I'm not buying into this one.

~Next is Here With Me. So they have another Marshmello song on here. This song production-wise is better than Happier. Though I gotta say the vocals are good but are a little underwhelming because Happier has better vocals. However, this song as a whole is better probably because the radio decided to murder this song. Sadly, this won't do as good as its former.

~At 31 we have Thinking 'Bout You. This song is good and I like her voice. Her saying "Thinking 'Bout You" gets annoying. Also, her voice is somewhat annoying after awhile. It's a song I can deal with, but don't really want to listen to it. I'm calling a flop for this song. Also, Level Up is better than this.

~Next at 28 is Dumb Blonde. I'm surprised it debuted before other songs like bury a friend and Dancing's Not A Crime. Anyways, the song is good. I like both people and their vocals. However, it kind of fading already on me. I mean, it was on My Top 40, but never really got anywhere. So yeah, it's good, but not the best.

~Finally we have break up with your girlfriend, i'm bored. I'm pretty shocked she released it for radio that quickly. The rise of this probably murdered 7 Rings momentum and further murdered thank u, next's already downward spiral. Anyways, the song is nice. I like everything. This could fade since I first listened to it when it first came out. Hopefully, this comes to Top 10, but nothing further.

Best Debut Of The Week: Ariana Grande- break up with your girlfriend, i'm bored (Here With Me came close, but as a right now preference, this is better by a little bit).

Thinking 'Bout Blurbs
~I'll start off by saying Post Malone has the biggest jump and drop. I mean good for Wow., but for Sunflower, man I thought it would last longer. Also, it might've taken the biggest drop of the year so far.

~Seems like Let Me Down Slowly is going to spiral off the list because it took its final rebound unless it's going to be like High Hopes and just keep rebounding.

~Thank god Tequila dropped, this song has to leave. However, its predecessor and better one, Speechless is trying to push through to Top 10.

~I see Bad Liar took a tumble out of the Top 10, which probably means the end of its time here. Let's face it they're trying to push like Natural, but it's not going to work.

~All debuts go up a bit which is good for the most part. Eastside and apologize are probably going soon. This sucks because I really liked the latter for some time recently and the former, I could care less.

~Just calculated and I believe the average drop rate was about -6.4. Wow, that's concerning for all the songs that dropped.

~As far as exits go, Genius and Hurts Like Hell got screwed easily, The Way I Am and I'm A Mess were overdue, and All The Ways was just very bad and weak. So yeah I mean in general all these dropouts were either good or bad.

New Trainees
~First up is Old Town Road. This song is really good as it's grown on me a lot. Both sound really good and I like the production.

~For these I'll give a summary and then go further when it debuts.

~Medicine is some random song that I heard. Everything is good and is a huge step up from that crappy Limitless.

~Kills You Slowly is very mellow, but I like that Andrew tries to use a higher tone of voice. Overall, the production is nice too.

~If We Have Each Other is good too, but I heard like twice so I can't say much. It's more upbeat than anything. However, It's more of a quicker song than a melodic song like Let Me Down Slowly.

~Boy With Luv is ok. It's Korean so I can't say lyrical-wise. Their voices are okay, but Halsey has nothing to do with this song so she's pointless here.

New Entrants
~First up is Love Me Less. I talked about this on the Hits 1 post, but I'll say it again. MAX sounds really good and the production is really good. Quinn sounds good because MAX's voice could get annoying after awhile. The lyrical content is pretty good considering it says something. I also heard that an electronic DJ produced the track so that's probably why I like it.

~Next is No Sleep. Now I know this is not the most energetic EDM song, but I like it. I heard High On Life, but something didn't stick with me there. Here, it's very nice. The vocals from Bonn sound better and cleaner than High On Life. The production from Martin and the beat drop isn't really that bad. Good job here.

~Now we have Wow. So at first, I didn't like the song. Recently, it grew on me like a lot. The song is stuck in my head now it won't leave. The music video furthers its growth on me. The guy dancing is hilarious, but talented af. Anyways, good song and it might do better than Better Now.

~After that we have, Don't Feel Like Crying but MK hops on the track to remix it. So I'm more of a  fan of remixes of songs. However, the original clocks in way higher. Though it'll probably take a big jump for next week or this week I should say. The beat drop is good, but not the best. The production works with her voice and there's not like a weird instrumental at the beginning or throughout the song.

~Landing at #20 is Congratulations. Okay, so I think if I had more time to record and got this out earlier this song would've been higher than where it is. Anyways, the production sounds very indie and pewdiepie's voice is pretty good. Roomie's voice is good on the chorus since he does sing. I've watched him for a long time, but to sing with the most subscribed person on youtube is amazing. Boyinaband just roasts the hell out of T-Series so he's pretty good with his part vocally too.

~Up next is Angels. To start, this song would've hit #1 for like 2 months back in 2017 when I first heard off a Youtube Red Series edit. The song is really good and the vocals are too. Vicetone's work is very nice and its a really good dance song. Honestly, I think it'll get somewhere with its awakening.

~Shooting high at #12 is Insomnia. Like said, it would've hit higher if I had more time. Actually, nevermind, it would've been lower. Anyways, Daya's voice is good overall, but that production gets stuck in your head. Her saying Insomnia-a-a gets stuck up there and then it just sits in your head, because it's really catchy. I can't say much anymore because it's too good.

~Finally we have the original version of Don't Feel Like Crying. I've heard Sigrid many times before, but this is her best. Sucker Punch was okay, but Strangers was really good. The chorus is really good, and her voice sounds good throughout the whole song. The contents may be basic, but everything else makes up for it. Good for her, because if this gains popularity because she's talented.

Biggest Jump- Austin Brown- In Betweenin' (+18)

Biggest DROP- Meghan Trainor- All The Ways (-16)

#1 Song This Week One Year Ago- Zedd/Maren Morris/Grey- The Middle (5th/9 weeks)

New Entrants
~To start we have Juice. Okay, so I honestly don't find anything good in this song. The production is decent at most, but everything is just not great. Her voice in the chorus is absolutely trash and grating, the lyrical content is to blame her ass or something like that. This song is pointless and I don't know why it's a hit.

~Next is Low Key. Hits 1 got another Fifth Harmony member on here. However, I don't think they've picked up Dinah yet so, I don't know. The song is decent for now, but they could've put Tyga on it. Like c'mon Hits 1 even Nick Radio puts Tyga on and god they are bad when it comes to putting songs on their station. I mean you allowed Lil' Wayne on Genius and let I've Been Waiting to get somewhere on here (which I'm not mad about), you also let Wow. on here too. Hell, you put SICKO MODE on here, but you can't simply put Tyga on this song. Anyways, her voice is good, and so is the production, Tyga makes this song better, I'm telling you, Hits 1.

~Finally is Last Hurrah. I didn't expect this to debut. I mean it's good but that's weird that it also didn't kick out I'm A Mess. This song won't do as good as its ancestor(s). It just debuted on Billboard so perfect timing. Anyways, I like her voice on here, but I'm A Mess has better vocals. The production is better than its former song so yeah these two are neck-and-neck. The songs kind of link, but I don't want to get to into it. Overall, it's good, but it'll be hard for it to break Top 10 unless it randomly ends up there because the older songs above it just start falling.

Best Debut Of The Week: Bebe Rexha- Last Hurrah

Blame It On My Blurbs
~The Top 3 is pretty stacked here, and it's going to be a tough fight for #1. Though in the end, Sucker will clock in a few more weeks, ruining both Sweet But Psycho's and Who Do You Love's momentum.

~All the debuts from two weeks are probably done with Hurts Like Hell, Genius, All The Ways, and GIRL all nearing or in the Bottom 10. Though since GIRL is getting somewhere, I think it'll stay. Hurts Like Hell might have a chance, but I wouldn't count on it. The other two are just done here.

~Be Alright takes a drop out of the Top 10, meaning it probably will just chill in the Top 20.

~Happier and This Feeling take rebounds into the Top 10 which is concerning. However, Let Me Down Slowly jumps back to its peak as it now starts picking up everywhere.

~High Hopes drops out of the Top 10. So the new thing here is that successful song will take a random, huge jump and then downward spiral from there since it's happened to Natural, Youngblood, Girls Like You, and Love Lies already.

~I've Been Waiting needs to stay since it's now picking up steam on pop.

~Also, another thing I noticed is that most sort of minor songs on this list will hit numbers 21 to 23 and then spiral out of the list. It happened to Sue Me, Moves, Expectations, and many more song. Also, probably now I've Been Waiting and In Betweenin'.

~As far as exits go, Harry was just random and bad, Girls Like You got SUPER annoying after some time, and finally, 365 was a low-key good song, but just couldn't pick up steam so it flopped.

New Trainees
~First up is FLEXIBLE. When I first heard it was really good. It's from some random artist who sounds like he sings countrIt'sIts pretty good. I like his voice though it sounds generic and the production is not that generic, but I like it's pretty good overall.

~Next is Cool. This might kill Sucker's momentum. Sucker is way better than this song. This is just a generic song overall. The vocals are good, but that production is just generic. The lyrical content is too. I know we're all trying to have a 2000's resurgence in music right now, but if you keep releasing songs like this we won't like it.

~Finally, we have Love Me Less. The song isn't that bad from MAX. His voice is good, but the production really good and bring it all together. I don't exactly know if they allowed Quinn on the track. I'll leave as featured, but I won't talk about him until it debuts and even if he's on.

New Entrants
~First up is 11 Minutes. Here, Halsey sounds really good and the production is nice. The verses she gives off is good too. However, I feel like YUNGBLUD's follow-up is what disappoints me. I don't why he followed-up like this. Anyways, it's nice.

~Next is I Can't Get Enough. I like the production here, but that is the downfall, they just loop it. However, J Balvin is great here and so is Selena, but she can do way better.

~Next is up is I Don't Belong In This Club. Here, Why Don't We is okay, but have done better. Macklemore is great here and the production wraps it up.

~Finally is Better When You're Gone. I'll say the production, vocals, and content are way better than Say My Name. I like the beat drop and what follows too.
